3 o'clock in the Morning Prayer

Search me O God and know my heart,
for the dirty monster's sly.
Test me and know my anxious thoughts,
for the rabid black dog hides.
See if there is any offensive thing within me,
for the heavy shadow lies.
And lead me in your way everlasting,
if it's just for one night.
